With the Fiscal Cliff Looming, the real question is

“Who will blink first”?

One might say that it has been 1912 days 20 hours 20 minutes 53 seconds since the Senate blinked last (or first).   That would be when they passed their last budget!   Clearly, the leadership in the senate has no regard for the laws that mandate they pass a budget.  Without such a requirement to be followed (or a law that penalizes lawmakers themselves), there is no need for the Senate to blink.

Watch here for an explanation of the how the fiscal cliff might affect you.

On the other hand, the House of Representatives has regularly proposed and even passed budgets, essentially putting their “tits in the wind” to be chopped off at every broadcast news opportunity. Democrats have clearly seized on a strategy of, “If you don’t propose a plan, then you can not be criticized.” Republicans have yet to learn the lesson. Surely, if the Republicans don’t “cave” or “blink first” on the fiscal cliff, they will bear the political burden of the Fiscal Cliff Results. But, why so? Didn’t Democrats already (also) agree on the mandatory cuts and tax increases scheduled to implode the U.S. Economy on January 1st?

Would it be so bad?

Seriously, would it be so bad if the tax increases and spending cuts destined to occur actually happen?

Perhaps, only for Republican candidates due to be reelected in two years. But, wouldn’t the budget deficits actually be addressed by the automatic cliff, we are destined to go over?  How is that bad for the electorate?

Oh, except for the resulting recession.  My bad.

The Supreme Court Rules

When it comes to the final say, the Buck Stops at the Supreme Court, as they render decisions on Obama Care’s Mandate and Arizona’s right to protect its border.  Certainly, these are the most critical decisions of the court this term and some believe in our lifetime.  Whether the people of this great nation are the master of their government, or a horde of slaves to be governed, by an enlightened few.  And also, whether or not individual states have the power to protect their border, while simultaneously being required to provide  services to illegal aliens.  Two of the most important decisions of the Supreme Court, perhaps in a lifetime.

AGENDA21 IS COMING TO YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!

The Romeo Area Tea Party Presents
Hal Shurtleff
Regional Field Director of the John Birch Society
discussing the dangers of Agenda21

Hal Shurtleff was born and raised in Boston, MA.  He served nine years in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve.  He joined The John Birch Society in 1988, started a local chapter in 1989, and came on the staff of The JBS as New England coordinator in 1990.  He was appointed Regional Field Director in 2000.  Hal has appeared as a guest on numerous radio and cable TV shows throughout the Northeast and as a speaker at patriotic and civic organizations.  Hal is a well sought after speaker on the topic of Agenda 21.  Hal is married and has five children.

INTRODUCTION OF AGENDA 21: Effective execution of Agenda 21 will require a profound reorientation of all human society, unlike anything the world has ever experienced — a major shift in the priorities of both governments and individuals and an unprecedented redeployment of human and financial resources. This shift will demand that a concern for the environmental consequences of every human action be integrated into individual and collective decision-making at every level.

Every once in awhile the “Drive by Media” goes so far out of its way to push their agenda that the definition of “Absurd” is realigned.  Recently, it appeared that the “power” inferred by the value of a national TV audience was intoxicating enough to drunken the judgment of the likes of George Stephanopoulos, and Ivy League (Columbia University) graduate.  The rational of his recent query in the New Hampshire presidential debate, did not exist.

With Presidential candidate Mitt Romney clearly leading polls in New Hampshire, it was time for the biased media to take aim at the front runner.  Surely, history proves sure that whenever a leading candidate in the republican primaries emerges, established media sources target them in coordinated unison.  Established media types all use the same playbook, so their choices are limited.  Its like blind faith, without the faith.

On Saturday (January 7th),  so clever was the attempt of ABC NEWS anchor George Stephanopoulos, in his efforts to “trip up”  Mitt Romney, that the ABSURDITY of his question was apparent.  Not since the “Lost Weekend” of John Lennon has time stood so still, when Candidate Romney enlightened the audience as to the ridiculousness of the question regarding; States Rights to (potentially) Ban Contraception, as defined by the Supreme Court in a 1965 ruling (Griswold v. Connecticut).  Certainly, Stephanopoulos dug deep into the archives of current events, as he was only four at the time of that ruling.

So, what was the point?

Exactly!

The only purpose of George’s question could only have been to create a new talking point for the ABC Sunday morning “talking head” show, “This Week with… (I miss David Brinkley)“.

No.  There was no value to the question, nor Romney’s answer, which only clarifies the absurdity of the lost three minutes of time ABC paid for.  But, we promise.  If you watch the actual video evidence presented here, you won’t loose your entire weekend, nor will you be attended to for eighteen months by May Pang.  You will, however, be reminded of the “absurdity of it all”.
