Let us know what you think and how you might contribute. Or, just show up! Watch our Events Calendar for our next meeting.

Thanks Harvey. Nothing done here intentionally to ignore any other parties. Please submit names and URL Links for other candidates who are on the ballot for all 50 states. Actually, I’ll accept less than 50 states, if there is a clear indication the candidates are registered to compete the vast majority of electoral votes. Please submit the information to our General Mail box.

We are a little short on Web Masters right now, but won’t ignore your submission.

  • Harvey Binroth:

I Noticed how on your web site, under presidential race, you list only the Democrats and Republicans. I find this slightly hypocritical. On one hand you won’t endorse any candidates. On the other hand, you show only the major 2 parties for the Presidential race. That line of thought about not supporting a candidate, is counter to only showing the two parties. Might want to take another look at that.

And, as I predicted at the outset of your/our group, you will all(most of us) end up voting for the GOP candidate of their choice. And I do not believe Romney, Perry, or Gingrich are candidates that I could in good conscience support. And now we have limited our selves to candidates to the two parties. This is a fatal error. You are supporting the 2 party system. Why not let you constituents determine that for them selves.

We just had Christmas Celebration on December 5th. Watch our Events calendar for our upcoming general meetings, normally held on Mondays, as well as our popular Lunch-n-Learn “First Friday Events”.

  • When will the next meeting be held? I assume things are busy up until Christmas, but would love to attend! Since we moved to Shelby Township, I’m please to have found liberty-orientated groups such as RATP!

  • Hello,
I am the local NRA show recruiter. I would like to set up a recruitment table at the next Romeo event on October 17th, 2011. Please advise if possible.
    Thank you,

No, but we do appreciate it if you call ahead to purchase tickets.

  • Al Holloway:

Do we need a reservation for the 9/19 meeting?

  • Rock:

Uh, JohnK… did you catch our post “To Bridge or Not to Bridge?” This was not quite a glowing review of Governor Snyder’s push to spend money. Can you help us understand what he sees in pushing this project?

  • Tom:

Sounds like you are very upset about something John. Is your pension being taxed? Sorry about that but what should we tell the senior citizen who is still working for taxable wages? Or how about the thousands of workers whose 401K’s are going to be taxed as they use the money in their retirement? When you have a moment give a persuasive argument about how to speak to these populations about taxes and then we will happily incorporate your ideas into a post. Fair?

  • john k:

where the Hell are you guys. we have a Republican Governor who never met a Tax he didn’t like, and not a peep from you people. he is the worse Democrat Governor we ever had.
why no protest? why no opposition? or are you guys just very selective about what you said you stand for, or should i say what you don’t stand for. what happened to Read My Lips, No New Taxes? very disappointed in the lack of response from the Tea Party to what should be a main issue to the platform, NO NEW TAXES. not on Pensions, not on Services, not on the people of the State Of Michigan. WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS????

  • The State of Indiana’s Supreme Court ruled against the 4TH Amendment, Kentucky ruled in support of the 4TH Amendment which was overturned by the Nations Supreme Court. There are warrentless searches going on,

    http://www.koat.com/r/27922147/detail.html?taf=alb

and as Patriots we must check with our Legislators to see where they stand on this issue. Remember this is how the British treated the Colonists, the Patriot Act is no different from what the British did.

    From Linda K,
Thanks Chuck, for your offer. It has been passed along to the techie people. It takes the support and skills of a lot of people to make the Tea Party movement successful.

  • Chuck Gabriel:

To whom it may concern: I know you’re in the process of purchasing a PA System. My brother’s Band is in the process of selling a PA System. They would like to give the Tea Party a opportunity to purchase but they have someone interested in part of it. They would prefer selling the complete package. Please call Jim H. 586-749-XXXX and let him know if you’re interested or not interested. Jim can give all the details about the system and why they decided to purchase a new PA System.

    Regards

We are glad you enjoyed the meeting, Ron.

There are some video clips at the Thomas More Law Center web site, including info about the missionaries that were arrested.
Copy and paste this into the address bar, to visit his website– http://www.thomasmore.org/qry/page.taf?id=26 .

The movie “Fitna” is not available on their website right now, keep checking back.

Mr. Thompson is a great speaker.

    <>< Linda

  • Ron Sangster:

Could you please provide the name of the film clip Richard Thompson was able to play at the end of the meeting last evening? I forgot to write it down.

By the way, that was a great program last night.

    Ron Sangster

  • LindaK:

    Hello Ron,
Sorry you weren’t able to make the meeting. Dr. Chris Kobus was a great speaker. Thanks to WBRW video-recording our meetings, we are able to post a video of the meeting on the website (soon), and DVDs will be available also.
    Linda K

  • Ron Sangster:

    Hi There
We were unable to attend the Dr. Kobis lecture last evening. Will there be a CD or DVD of it available??
    Thank You

  • Rock:

Thanks for the offer Rick, but we’ve been viewing the RATP Website on iPhones for months. Droids too. Not sure why we need an app.

  • I offered to provide the RATP with their own iPhone App, six(6) page Mobile Website and Unlimited Text Messaging at no charge 3 months ago and still have not gotten a reply?
http://www.APP313.com Take a look and let me know if you are interested.
    Thanks,

Hey what a fantastic website. EVERYTHING IS TERRIFFIC. The numbers on the Debt Clock go up faster than the gas pump.

  • Rock:

Peter, The RATP does not officially endorse candidates. We do however offer many opportunities for candidates to present their ideas and core believes to the public. Your best vehicle to initiate a request to speak publicly to the RATP is to send an email to our general email account: RomeoAreaTeaParty@hotmail.com

  • I’m running for US Senator against Debbie Stabenow in 2012. I’m trying to disseminate my core beliefs to the people throughout Michigan. As a first step I’ve put together a website (www.peterkonetchy.com) which addresses these beliefs. I’d appreciate it if you could review the site, and if you agree with my principles, pass it on to like minded individuals. Also, I’m scheduling speaking engagements after the first of the year. I’d be honored to address your group if you could work me into your schedule. You can contact me via pete@peterkonetchy.com.

Cyndi, Out November 8th “Salute to Our Veterans” was the last public meeting on our 2010 Calendar. Reviews of this event from the crowd are unbelievably positive. A few committees will meet again in December, while Leadership is preparing for a busy 2011 year. Watch our “Events” (calendar) tab for upcoming January events. There are no dues to be a member of RATP, though we do survive entirely on donations. Stay active, by writing your congressmen (persons) often, as we continue to provide sample letters on current legislation.

  • Cyndi Gagleard:

When is your next meeting? How much are your dues?
    Thank you,
    Cyndi Gagleard

  • LindaK:

    Hi Larry,

and why are you backing them????

  • Cecilia Simonsen:

I cannot find the cloture/dream flyer, is it available on the website? I need a copy. Also, there were lots of Senators to call, but no phone numbers furnished. I can furnish phone numbers.

  • Marty Prehn:

Just a heads up to the important info I have just received. On Friday September 17, 2010 from 12:30 p.m. until approx. 3:00 p.m. a flag that was flown at ground zero during the clean up after 911 will be on display at the Fraser City Hall and a service will take place at 12:30 p.m.This is open to the public the address is Fraser City Hall 33000 Garfield Road Fraser, Mi 48026. The flag will then be sent by an Honor Guard up to Roscommon County where it will be displayed at a Firemen’s Memorial Dedication that they will have in Roscommon County. The flag is considered to be a flag of honor and will make various trips throughout the state. Thought this would be of interest to you tea drinkers in Romeo since “we the people” don’t like the kool-aid that they serve in Washington. Make sure to contact your friends and family that live the the 12th Congressional district and let them know about Don Volaric and vote for him and financialsupport this campaign to DEFEAT Sander Levin. Go to http://www.VolaricForCongress.com and or http://www.firelevin.com and get these site on your facebook pages or e-mail to everyone you know. Thanks For further info contact me Marty Prehn who is Don’s office manager at mprehn2004@yahoo.com or call the office at 1-586-925-0911.Now let’s start planning Sander Levin’s retirement party scheduled for November 2nd.

  • Marty Prehn:

Don Volaric who is running for the MI-12 Congressional Seat is attempting to unseat Sander Levin and has recently opened a NEW website under http://www.firelevin.com and makes it available for all those who want to see Sander Levin FIRED to make a donation to the Volaric For Congress campaign. Thanks and let us, WE THE PEOPLE take back our country and OUR White House.

  • Rock:

Thanks for the invite Marty. Though, the RATP does not endorse candidates, we are happy to keep the public informed of such events.

  • Rock:

    Mike,

Follow our “Events” calendar link for each of our scheduled events.

  • Marty Prehn:

Just sending out an invite to the Romeo Tea party group to come and attend the open house that we are having on this Saturday for Don Volaric who is running against Congressman Sander Levin in the November general election. Don needs your voices, bodies and any financial consideration that you can give to him as Sander Levin has built a significant war chest but the LIBERALS must be defeated and sanity and fiscal integrity restored in Washington. Please go to http://www.Volaric For Congress.com for more info.

    Hi
I am an elderly retired individual that has come to the conclusion that voicing my opinion individually to our elected officials is the majority times like talking to a wall. I am interested in getting involved with a local group, such as yours, and am wondering when and where you have your meetings and if anyone is welcome to drop in. I was hoping to attend the Washing D.C. event this month but due to finances and family commitments that just won’t happen.
    Thank you for any information

    Hi Jane,

Thanks for the question. Just for laughs, when I checked the comments today on our site, there were about 20, but yours was the only legitimate one! All the other were trying to sell something, or passing bad links to bad sites. So I really mean it when I say ‘thanks for the question!’

The only way to use the lending library right now is to attend our monthly meeting. There will be a table there with lots of books that you may take out. Of course they always appreciate a new addition. And fortunately you will not need to wait long to attend a meeting – our next meeting is Monday the 23rd.

    Hope to see you there,

    Tom

  • Jane Rau:

I understand that the RATP has a lending library. One can donate/borrow a book. How do I access the library? I’d like to donate a book/check something out.
    Thanks

The Romeo “Area” Tea Party has no territorial boundaries. Please come and join us, Don.

  • Rock:

    Sorry Don,

If the webmasters of the RATP site left you out of a post, it was clearly inadvertent. But, I’ve searched our most recent posts and just can’t seem to locate where we left you out? You are clearly listed on our multiple video posts as running for County Commissioner 7th district, as well as our official August 3rd Primary Candidate Listing. If we have missed you on some other posting, we apologize as it was inadvertent.

And, congratulations on your August 3rd Primary Victory.

  • I am running again this year as precinct delete in Washington 6 and I am not listed, why? I have a Republican precinct continuously since 1981 fighting for conservative causes and candidates Where there membership dues I needed to pay, my cash donations didn’t count? I have been actively involved in the Tea Party movement before most of you, beginning on the April 15th tax day protests in 2009, july 4th rally in Port Huron 2009 and most all of the Romeo events. It appears to me that you are showing favoritism, which you have repeatly said you weren’t going to do? Who decided on this “slate” of delegates?

  • DonS:

I’m a concerned citizen who’s a little South of your area (Shelby Township) but am looking for a “sane” conservative Tea Party group that I can work with to learn how to encourage and hold our elected officials accountable for upholding the constitution and the vision of our founding fathers. I have a lot to learn about being involved. Are you open to people outside of the Romeo area?

  • Rock:

We’ve posted Frank’s comments, as well as all others in attendance to you-tube. The RATP sponsored a Meet the Candidates Open house to give you an opportunity to get to know the people who are running for office, so that you can make an informed choice. If you missed the event, or if you simply want to refresh your memory on what they said, we now have the videos available on our Your Tube Site.

They are divided by Candidate and each of them has a 3 minute segment.

Why were libertarians left out of the meet the candidates? I am actively campaigning and have internet prescence. I also feel I represent tea party values very well. Please include me along with other libertarians in future events. My facebook page is : Scott Dudek for Michigan district 32.

Congratulations to Rand Paul. We hope he represents TEA Party Conservative Initiatives for Kentucky. Curiously newly elected Scott Brown voted for more government today… Based on future promises by Senator Read. Such actions resemble a twilight zone episode. Where are we headed now?

  • Jaclyn Smith:

    Fellow Liberty Fights,

Today our efforts bear fruit. The Rand Paul win in the GOP primary against the old school, neo-con, establishment candidate Trey Grayson is the beginning of a winning wave for all of us in the Liberty Revolution.

To celebrate this major triumph, you are invited to a “RandSlide Victory Party” on Friday, May21st, 7-9:30pm. It will be held at 45299 Market St. in Shelby Twp. Located on Hall Rd. behind Starbucks and next to Costco.

We have all contributed to the fight for liberty in some way, and we should celebrate this victory as one of our own.

Food and refreshments will be provided. Bring yourself, family, friends, and great conversation.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The next scheduled RATP General Meeting is May 24th at the Capital Banquet Center, starting at 7:00 pm. The guest speaker will be David Breuhan, “An American Renaissance”.

  • Jeremy Garrett:

When is the next meeting? I would like to attend.

  • michael cobbett:

I have a suggestion for the next local rally and even the national rally to be held on Sept 11th in Washington DC. Why dont we have individuals that represent a cross section of local Tea Party groups and America each read on a stage a paragraph of the Declaration of Independence and the Constituion. Lets put a face of who the Tea Party is and what we stand for. Lets have a public reading of the 2 most important public documents that our country is founded upon. One by one these individuals could read a portion of these documents. Let the Tea Party be the ones who arent afraid to publicly read and declare the law of the land.
